![]() ![]() I do want good sound, but I am just porking around amateurishly, so greatness is not required. a piezo is a small crystal that produces an electrical current when pressure is applied to it. We use high quality only piezo transducers from RMC pickups company. For that reason piezo pickups are located at bridge in most cases, giving that distinctive acoustic sound. Oh, and NYXL strings, for the EBow, working great !Īnd while we're at it, what about this doohickey? Instead of magnetic field, piezo catch vibration of the instrument and transduce it into electrical signal. Going straight to Pod, pedals, mixer, PC. But I have no access to a PRS Hollowbody Piezo to try it, and I have. It is in excellent cosmetic condition, all of the pins and saddles are clean and perfectly straight. I found it in a music store drawer wrapped in a soft cloth. Installation requires no modification to your guitar apart from drilling the endpin jack hole and gluing the elements to the bridge plate. Most people use this in combination with the Control X preamp to get an acoustic. Here is a gold PRS/LR Baggs Piezo bridge for the PRS Hollowbody Piezo guitars. Or, in the case of an electric guitar, possibly the piezo through the Symetrix AND then the Pod? Am I stupid, or accidentally crazy like a fox? Each saddle in the T bridge is a piezo transducer with its individual output. So, I hadn't thought of trying the acoustic soundhole pickup through the Pod, and the undersaddle through the Symetrix. Piezo elements integrated into each bridge saddle respond directly to the acoustic energy of your electric guitar - providing an 'acoustic' sound quality. I have a Symetrix SX-202 (definitely high quality) preamp I used for acoustic guitar with condenser mics, but I couldn't seen to get enough gain from it from the soundhole pickup, to compete with the undersaddle pickup going through the Pod. or fretless with only the Turner Reference piezo bridge system or in Piezo / Magnetic versions with either a single Diamond pickup or two soapbars. The Fishman Powerbridge Piezo Bridge Pickups are built into high quality, made-in-the-USA replacement bridges for Stratocaster and Telecaster style guitars. Does the Pod 2.0 qualify as a "good preamp" ?, because I've been using one for my EBow madness, and it seems to doa great job. They could then design the bridge and pickups as an integrated system without compromise. I'm planning on a MIM Strat, nothing fancy.
